Chorale Principles and Processes

Musical Responsibilities:
Never take your music lightly, but HAVE FUN!
Practice and be prepared.
Memorize your music as quickly as possible.
Sing your music with enthusiasm, energy, emotion, artistry, and musicianship.
Remember, the choir that accents, releases, attacks, and sings emotionally with beautiful tone and color, will experience the benefits and the joys of growing and becoming an inspiring choir.

Rehearsal Responsibilities:
Make rehearsals a priority.
Come prepared.
Be on time, about 10 minutes before the downbeat.
Listen and adjust your voice to ensure a good sense of rhythm, blend, balance and the thrill of the music.
Remember, what happens in the rehearsal will be magnified in the performance.
Work a little harder and smarter at every rehearsal.
Make every rehearsal an emotional music experience; be an example of an inspiring chorale member.
Remember, talent is founded on developing good vocal techniques and music fundamentals, while keeping a smile on your face and love in your heart.

Goals and Directions:
Take pride in every musical effort; learn the music with sensitivity and passion.
Have a positive attitude.
Work to develop your individual musical skills to the best of your ability, and to share your talents in a collective process.
Develop an understanding of the composers and arrangers of all our music.

Performances:
Whether performing for small or large audiences, remember that every performance is equally important!
Keep in mind that quality performances are the outcome of quality rehearsals.
