About Us

The Sno-King Community Chorale has been delighting audiences since 2002 under the direction of Frank DeMiero, as a program of Edmonds Community College. The Chorale's guiding credo - to "sing with a smile on your face and love in your heart" - is reflected in both the programming and collaboration with guest artists throughout the Chorale's performing history.

SKCC presents challenging and diverse musical literature in a broad range of innovative and entertaining styles. The addition of instrumentalists from jazz guitarists to classical orchestras, along with staging and costuming, makes each concert unique.

The Chorale has begun past holiday seasons with performances of Amahl and the Night Visitors, and Vivaldi's Gloria, as well as selections such as Pachelbel's Canon, Ose Shalom, Zum Gali, and traditional carols and holiday themes from around the world.

SKCC's recognition for presentations of major choral works is growing with performances such as Luigi Cherubini's Requiem Mass in C Minor, performed with the Edmonds Community College Symphonic Choir as special guests; Giacomo Puccini's Messa di Gloria, with full orchestra, and John Rutter's Mass of the Children. Recently the Chorale performed Dr. Michael Kissinger's Sacred Cantata, with the composer himself performing with the Chorale as guest artist. That same program also featured conductor DeMiero's own Massa della Matrimonio.

The Chorale's spring Pops concerts are always eagerly awaited for its audience favorites, which have included selections from Fiddler on the Roof, Hello, Dolly, The Music Man, Oklahoma!, and most recently, The Sound of Music. Special guest performers, composers and arrangers for these popular events have included acclaimed actor Michael Dunne, as well as nationally recognized regional talents Ed Aliverti, Ken Kraintz, Kirk Marcy, Dave Barduhn, Louise Rose and the Seattle Jazz Singers, as well as local high school and middle school student choirs.

SKCC supports community events with music at civic events, art walks, festivals, and concerts that benefit organizations such as the local Multiple Sclerosis Helping Hands.

Sno-King Community Chorale continues its growth and its mission, to provide an extraordinary choral music experience to all who share the love and joy of singing; and to offer a quality, challenging, and inspirational musical environment through rehearsals and public performances.

Finé:

"By working together, we will build on the traditions of great choral literature, former community chorales, the strengths of our creativity, and the interests of the arts in our community. And, we will experience the joy of creating an exciting and enthusiastic sounding choir.

The music profession has given me so much over the years and the opportunity to work with you is another one of those special gifts. I look forward to each rehearsal and performance and feel privileged to serve as your conductor."

In harmony,
